Nourishing your faith. Our Mission: St. John’s Catholic Newman Center exists to radiate Christ through His Church, by living in relationship with the students of the University of Illinois and Parkland College and guiding them on their journey of human, spiritual, and intellectual formation.

Our Vision: St. John’s Catholic Newman Center will be the national model of college ministry reflecting a bold Catholic identity reaching the entire campus.

We’re composed of three entities to help the university community live, serve, and learn in faith.

Newman Hall, a “home away from home” for thousands of University of Illinois students from around the world.

St. John’s Catholic Chapel, dedicated to the spiritual needs and development of students, faculty, and staff at UIUC and Parkland College. We help the faithful explore their unique spiritual paths through prayer, study, and service.

• The Institute of Catholic Thought, devoted to the study and research of Catholicism in its relation to the intellectual and cultural heritage of the western world; and serving the needs of the students, faculty, and staff of the university.
