The Bishop O’Rourke Library is a Catholic lending library whose collection includes over 7,000 volumes focused on Catholic history, theology, and spirituality, including religious videos, audio books, and sacred music CDs. It exists to support study and research on Catholicism.

Location

The library is located in the southeast section of the ground floor of St. John's Catholic Newman Center, adjacent to Lewis Lounge.

Metered parking is available on Armory Street and Sixth Street, as well as in the Main Library lot across the street from the Newman Center (free after 5PM).

Hours of Operation

The library is available to Newman Hall residents 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Other patrons are invited to visit the library when our librarian is present:

2011-2012 Academic Year Public Hours:   Monday-Thursday from 1-6PM.

To increase accessibility to the public and to encourage those who attend mass at St. John’s to explore spiritual reading as a way of growing in faith, the Bishop O’Rourke Library will be open one hour every weekend before or after each of the masses.  The library will continue to be open to the public Monday-Thursday from 1-6PM. Check back in January for scheduled weekend library openings.

Winter Break 2011:

The library will be closed from December 23rd to January 6th, and will reopen with our regular hours on January 9th.
