Pricing
Room and board rates for the addition to Newman Hall have not yet been set. With the many upgrades amenities, state-of-the-art features and additional living spaces, the rates will likely be higher than current ones, but still well within range of other Private Certified Housing options at UI.
Existing building renovations
Once the new addition is complete, Newman Hall will be renovated:
- Student rooms to match those offered in the new building
- New heating and central A/C throughout the building, including the Chapel
- Renovation of Chapel basement to main office suite for all SJCNC staff
- Expansion of the Bishop O'Rourke Library
- Cafeteria conversion to a 175-seat auditorium, to be used for lectures, movies, and conferences
- Seamless connection with the new addition and improved traffic flow throughout the Center
- Fire sprinkler system(State mandated)
- Exterior renovations to Chapel roof, dormers, and brick
