Ways to Contribute

The "Opening New Doors " Campaign is the first substantial capital campaign in the history of St. John's Catholic Newman Center since Fr. O'Brien initially tried to raise $1.5M in 1924 for the construction of the Chapel and Hall. With over 15,000 identified constituents in our database - alumni, parents, friends - and several thousand alumni still to locate, we believe that our efforts will bear great fruit not only for the building project, but for the very future of the ministry. Currently, the Cabinet and SJCNC Advancement office are working to secure leadership gifts ($50,000+) during this "quiet phase" of the campaign. Soon, the formal public phase will kick-off with a special event at the construction site behind Newman Hall. The Opening New Doors Campaign will invite supporters of the SJCNC mission to make a financial investment in the 10,000+ young adults served at Illinois. A variety of giving options will enable everyone to participate in this exciting endeavor:

  • Outright gifts of cash or pledges
  • Memorial or honorarium gifts to honor someone
  • Substantial naming opportunities [see below]
  • Gifts of stock or other highly appreciated assets
  • Give through an estate plan (cash, property, or a share of your estate)
